Today we drove from San Jose, Four Points Hotel to Casa Aracari. It took us 2:30 minutes to reach the caribbean slopes. On the bus we talked some basic rules and the Program Leaders did some sightseeing.
On route we saw, coffee plantations, sugar plantations, plantains, the students highlighted that the infrastructure, all different buildings where different from their homes in the USA. Many houses had gates with interesting shapes.
We arrived at Casa Aracari, after a very winding drive from 3600 feeto to 1800 feet over sea level, it is warm and humid here.
Casa Aracari is the base camp. Our lodging has a lot of trees, bugs, sounds, we can hear a creek running and the owner has a cat and a dog.
We are in big rooms, all the girls live in the main building and the boys are next to the Global Glimpse leaders.
The food is new for the students, and so far they seem to enjoy it. Diego and Marielena (the cooks) are the couple who make the food for us with a lot of love.
We had seminars to talk about culture and rules and share with each other thru games and different icebreakers.

The first leaders of the day for tomorrow are Hamzah and Angel, so we (PC’s) will let them write down their views of the each day. A great day awaits for us tomorrow and the leaders of the day will write all about it. Buenas noches familias!
