This blog is being written by the most AMAZING and INCREDIBLE (and beautiful, of course) leaders of the day throughout the entire trip (A.K.A. Paige, Delaney, and Amy). Our team’s fantastic day began with a nice and loving wake-up call from us, suddenly transforming all the students into friendly people. Entonces, we had a spectacular breakfast made by our cooking BADDIES, Ursula and Isolina. With full bellies, we were transported to our CAP work site to transform into strong, working baddies again. We (Paige) carried ginormous bags of fertilizer. We (Amy) poured out the gigantic bags of fertilizer on the canaletas to begin our super laborious, heart-warming, and fulfilling work. We (Delaney) used her HUGE and astounding muscles to hammer and build a fertilizer holder. Paige wants to point out a few things: PC Pedro thought she couldn’t carry a bag of fertilizer by herself, but she did; also, a couple of classmates and Dominican helpers told her that she couldn’t hammer sideways because her classmates couldn’t do it, BUT SHE DID IT ON HER FIRST TRY.

With a strong start in the morning and a healthy and fulfilling lunch (NO food went uneaten!!), we returned to the CAP work site; however, there was some tension after the bus war we all started. It all began with the loudest and most fun group of people (Amy and Paige were in it). They had the speaker and saw the other group (Delaney) being jealous of how fun it was (That’s a lie😒-Delaney). But we all still locked in (as always) and separated into two groups: one working on painting trash cans and another planting herbs and vegetables. Amy did an OUTSTANDING job at translating how to plant all the herbs and vegetables, because “apparently” PC Dani forgot how to speak English. Everyone contributed, and nobody did too little or too small. During a short break, the teacher, Mr. Paez, pointed out how the sun had a strange, yet beautiful ring around it. Everyone was too stunned to continue working, and we took a moment to soak it in. But then, someone mentioned it looked like Saturn was closing in (which was impossible, but you know…🫢), and everyone thought we would be abducted by aliens!! But we accepted the possibility and planted and painted the trash cans.

Lastly, we had the best adventure visiting the grocery store. Delaney and Christian bought ALL of the Sprite left in stock and danced in the street, and Paige pulled out her INCREIBLE dance moves for everyone to see (Along with the party bus on the road). Amy took home a HEAVY bag of many things (which she already finished eating by the time you read this). We all got back to the Rancho and did some more team bonding with the “poisonous dart frog game”, and “the shoulder touch” game, which was VERY spirited (Delaney got her head shaken by Christian 😟). But alas, we all had a very fun time together, eating the delicious dinner (mac and cheese, salami, fried plantains, AND garlic bread). We ended the night with our nightly meeting, in remembrance of our tremendous victory with Mbappé (a Dominican student named Anderson) that EATS up and leaves no crumbs while playing soccer, and a moment of silence for Roberto (the doggie that mysteriously was abducted by aliens, and we had 2 moments of silence for him). R.I.P. ROBERTO!!!!!!!!
