The blazing sun caresses our blushed, sweaty faces. The poignant smell of Jaden’s Trader Joe SPF 50 sunscreen. The crunching of our fries by the poolside. Today, we spent the day at Lago Dorado, a pool that was transformed from a former shrimp farm

After our three day CAP, we treated ourselves to a fun day. We started the morning off with fried eggs, toast, and passion fruit juice. Everyone dressed up ready in their colorful swimwear. We started our journey to the water park, Lagos Dorado, with our famous bus driver, Erickson. We were greeted by a huge shrimp statue and enormous flamingoes. Feeling the heat of the sun, we were so excited to get into the pool; though the result of arriving at opening time, they were still cleaning.

As we got into the pool we felt a refreshing sense of relief and finally get a moment to relax. We got to enjoy ourselves by playing volleyball and reminiscing the times we were kids and got to play mermaids. We were swimming by water slide ready for it to open and played volleyball in the pool all day long (and even dragged the adults in with us). We finally had hours to bond together in ways that weren’t all about working, a successful rest day.

For lunch, we had the option of fish sticks, chicken strips, and a cheeseburger with fries and a choice of lemonade and Coke. Before lunch, most of us ordered fries, brownies and ice cream, tres leches, and basically the whole menu.

And to wrap up our pool day, some of us played soccer, rode a bike, or went on a swan boat. Even though the swan boat took all of our energy pedaling, all that mattered was that we had fun.

we FINALLY had the chance to go out by ourselves and explore the Merca Chitre and the Super 99, buying our souvenirs with everlasting memories and with an insane amount of snacks that it’ll probably feed a whole family for an entire week but its okay because the snacks be tasting amazing. Getting to enjoy ourselves was the perfect way to rest and spend the last day in Chitre.

And with the closing of our 10 day trip to Panama, life-long best friends, the delicious pineapple juice, and and countless memories from all our hard work. We tell our readers, our friends, and supporters, this isn’t the end, just a start of a new chapter.
