Hello Everyone! My name is Zyanya Vargas and I attend Arroyo High School in the Bay Area.
I’m from San Lorenzo, CA, and this is my second time traveling out of the country. I enjoy exploring new places, hiking, and taking initiatives towards change. Some of my favorite hobbies are playing tennis, going on bike rides, and playing the piano. I have a diverse music taste but my top artists are Frank Ocean and Lana Del Rey. Another Hobby of mine is Photography, as they capture sentimental memories, so expect lots on this trip!
What intrigued me about Global Glimpse was the opportunity given to immerse students in transformative international experiences and discover more about the areas culture, environment, and politics through hands-on learning whilst connecting with local people and communities.
I’m really excited to visit the Dominican Republic and try cultural meals, take community action, and experience the natural scenic beauty!
