INTRODUCTION: BRYAN SORTO HERNÁNDEZ (GGL)

Hi Glimpsers and Families!

My name is Bryan Sorto Hernández, and I am so excited to be one of your Global Glimpse Leaders for our trip to Panama! I’m looking forward to learning about Panama’s culture and history, trying amazing food, and supporting each of you throughout this journey. Before we leave, I wanted to introduce myself and share a little bit about who I am.

I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill last year, where I studied Human & Organizational Leadership Development, Public Policy, and Spanish. I now work as an 11th Grade SEO Scholar Advisor for an educational non profit called shift_ed in Greensboro, North Carolina. In my role, I support 11th grade students as they prepare for college. I’m passionate about college access, educational equity, and helping students grow into confident leaders.

Outside of work, I love trying new restaurants, traveling, watching reality TV and documentaries, and spending time with friends and family. I’m also always on the hunt for the best local food whenever I visit a new place!

My family is from El Salvador, so I’ve visited Central America before. However, this is my first trip to Panama, and I couldn’t be more excited! One of my favorite things about traveling is stepping outside of my comfort zone, meeting new people, and learning from different cultures. My biggest piece of advice is to come with an open mind, say “yes” to new experiences, and don’t be afraid to challenge yourself. Some of the best memories come from trying something you’ve never done before. We’re going to have an unforgettable experience together, and I can’t wait to meet you all soon!

With gratitude,

Bryan Sorto Hernández
