Hello, everyone!
My name is LeShawn Williams, and I am excited to serve as one of your Global Glimpse Leaders for our upcoming journey to Panama!
I currently teach U.S. History and English Language Arts at Coney Island Prep High School, where I also serve as the 11th Grade Team Lead. In addition, I teach at Kean University, and for the past 11 years, I have had the privilege of working with young people in a variety of educational settings. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration, and throughout my career, I have remained passionate about helping students discover their potential both inside and outside of the classroom.
One of the reasons I became a Global Glimpse Leader is because I believe some of life’s greatest lessons happen when we step outside of our comfort zones. Travel has a unique way of challenging us, expanding our perspectives, and helping us see both the world and ourselves differently. I wanted to be part of an experience that encourages students to embrace new cultures, build confidence, and develop leadership skills that will last long after the trip is over.
What excites me most about traveling to Panama is the opportunity to experience a country that I have spent years teaching about in history lessons. There is something incredibly meaningful about moving beyond textbooks and seeing history, culture, and community come to life firsthand. I can’t wait to explore alongside all of you and learn from the people, traditions, and experiences that make Panama so unique.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll probably find me shooting pool, performing spoken word poetry, singing karaoke, playing cards with friends, attending comedy shows or live music events, trying new restaurants, traveling, hosting events, or speaking at community programs. I also wear another hat that I’m incredibly proud of—I am the CEO of The Rich Fingers Writing Brand, where I work as a professional editor and writing coach, helping writers bring their stories and ideas to life.
As we prepare for this adventure, I encourage each of you to come with an open mind and a willingness to be challenged. Growth doesn’t always happen when things are easy; it happens when we embrace new experiences, ask thoughtful questions, and support one another along the way. This trip isn’t just about visiting another country—it’s about becoming more curious, compassionate, confident, and courageous versions of ourselves.
I’m looking forward to getting to know each of you, hearing your stories, learning what motivates you, and watching you grow into leaders throughout this journey. I have no doubt that we’ll create memories, friendships, and experiences that will stay with us for years to come.
Let’s make this an unforgettable adventure together.
Can’t wait to meet you all!
