cap day 3
Hey guys it’s the leaders of the day Max & Ashleigh!! Today was our third and final day working on our CAP project and finishing the foundation of Maria’s house. Our wonderful group of Glimpsers and leaders fought through the heat and bugs to mix cement and place cinder blocks while still having fun! Fueled by passion, chicken, and a group collaborated Spotify playlist, we were able to finish the job successfully.
A special shout-out to our MVP of the day, Anthony Padilla for translating, working, and making friends with the community and construction workers.
Despite the inconvenient rainy weather from CAP day two, we were able to finish on time. Later in the day, we took time to reflect on all the work we completed during these three days, and saw how much we grew as people and stronger as a group.
Unfortunately, our time that has grown to become our home in Constanza is coming to an end. Mandatory packing began and we prepared for the hotel of doom and despair waiting for us tomorrow in Santiago. (No AC in 85 degree weather)
2 days remain….
Best leaders signing out.
Here is a photo of the group with Dona Maria who is the elderly women that we are building a home for. When asked by GGL Leader Ms. Suzy, to Dona Maria, “Who will you be living with here?” She replied “With God.” She emphasized that she is a women of faith and so she is never alone.
