Culture Day (Divas)

Today our LDD of the day were Xatzibe, Naomy, and Alexa. We started off the day by waking the other glimpsers up with pots and pans. We just had breakfast and then, had first mental warm up and headed to our first activity of the day. We celebrated culture day by making ceramic statues with the famous “Gato” of Constanza. After which we came back to the accommodation and had lunch, then gathered at the park and hung out all together. Then our bus driver Buche drove us to meet Paul Rosado to our dance lessons that consisted of bachata, merengue, and salsa. Everyone gave their best energy and had lots of fun. After dancing for 2 hours, we all walked to get popsicles. Later on we came back to the accommodation and had some free time. Next, we had our seminar and had dinner. Lastly we finished the day off with our nightly meeting, where we passed the torch on to our next LDDs.

LDD Naomy

I had a lot of memorable moments throughout the day. I got the opportunity to connect with a lot of people I haven’t really got to talk to before and so far everyone is really nice! Getting to be the LDD for the day was like being in leadership all over again lol. Everyone enjoyed listening to my CD’s which made me glad. I also made the nose for the pottery and Gato said it was good and gave me a fistbump. I also loved getting to dance to Danza Kuduro but it made me really tired. Overall, this trip has had a great impression on me so far! I miss everyone and please leave comments! 🙂 …

Hey this your other LDD Alexa! I have recently been having so much fun getting to meet so many new people, learning the Dominican culture, and getting to explore the town of Constanza. Everyone is extremely nice and friendly so I already feel really connected to this group the first few days. Spending the time in our villas with my roomates (Olivia, Durga, and Amanda) has been really nice as well. One of my favorite memories of the day was getting to see the sheep and chickens after dinner and I thought it was really funny because of the sounds the animals were making and joking around with Naomy, Mia, Erika, Xatzibe, and more. Then at the end me, Naomy, and Xatzibe let the nightly meeting and passed the torch to the next LDDS, Genesis and Tania and their talents were really interesting. Hola, It is third and favorite LDD Xatzibe!!! So far the trip has been good. Today was definitely a fun day. Both of our activities were very fun and i had a great time dancing some bachata, merengue, and salsa. We were all sweating buckets but, we all had a good time. During our free time me and some of the girls ( Olivia, Durga, Mia, Erika, and Katia) played a very competitive but fun game of volleyball against the boys. The boys did win 3-0 but we will have a rematch soon. 😜 The food has also been absolutely DELICIOUS. Overall excited for our CAP project and maybe a beach day.
