Ready for an AWESOME trip????

Helloooo!

My name is Madison Smits. You can call me Smits, Ms, Smits, Smitty, etc. I’m a 4th year English teacher at Burton High School in San Francisco, and I looove to travel! Some of my favorite places have been Mexico, Costa Rica, Ireland, Italy, and Portugal. I am super excited to be a trip leader this year and get to know all of you. I am most excited to witness you all experiencing another place and stepping out of your comfort zone.

In my free time, I love to make fun little crafts (I just got a t-shirt press so I can make some silly t-shirts), eat at fun restaurants (my boyfriend is a chef!), and go to concerts. I recently went to Avril Lavigne, Peso Pluma, and Aftershock festival in Sacramento. I love music and dancing, so I am super stoked for our merengue classes we will be having in the DR. ?

In terms of leadership style, I’d say I am organized and empathetic. I’m always listening to people’s feelings, while also problem-solving. My friends call me the “mom friend” – always carrying around a bag of necessities with me. I’m excited to see you learn and grow, to be a part of your journey, and to have lots of fun on the way. ?
