It’s so hard to say Goodbye!

Hey Everyone!

On our final full day in Costa Rica we woke up wanting the day to never end. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast before heading back to the CAP Project School, except this time it wasn’t to do work. The previous day the school’s staff kindly invited us to come back to see their assembly in celebration of Partido de Nicoya, a Costa Rican Holiday. There we watched each grade do traditional Costa Rican Dances. We all enjoyed the show and the students were proud to show off their skills. We then went back to the house to “pack” though most students waited til the last minute. During the afternoon Glimpsers did final reflection activities led by Ms. Gen, our last Leader of the Day. After reflecting on their two week journey Bryana taught a hip-hop dance to a Beyonce Song. Everyone had a blast dancing together. After, students enjoyed a game of Manhunt, running all over the house and outside chasing each other. As a pleasant surprise when the game ended Ms. Gen showcased her talent of being an amazing makeup artist. Sidney came out like a model, showing off her makeover. Shortly after we enjoyed our last delicious meal together. When dinner ended we read blog posts and Glimpsers completed their final evaluation of the trip. For our last activity students chose their favorite memories captured by Polaroid photos and discussed their favorite memories of the trip and each other. To end the night we threw Luis a surprise birthday party to celebrate him turning 18 at the end of the month. The party was lit, full of dancing and of course cake and ice cream! Some Glimpsers kept the party going by jumping into the pool one last time. I don’t think anyone got much sleep last night. We could hear laughter in the rooms through the night. This trip was definitely one we will never forget. The memories and friendships made will last forever! Most importantly, the impact we made in the community will as well ?
