What is UP everyone! My name is Jeromie Whalen and I will be a Global Glimpse Leader on our trip. I’m very excited to meet you all! Here’s a little about myself:
I am 36, use he/him pronouns, and am a Communications and Media Production teacher at Northampton High School (you are all the lucky ones because I take literally hundreds of pictures on the trip that I share at the end!). I am also a Ph.D. student at UMass Amherst in the Mathematics, Science, and Learning Technologies program in the College of Education and focus primarily on emergency remote teaching and artificial intelligence. I am married to my beautiful wife April and split time between South Hadley, MA, and Jersey City, NJ. In my free time, I like to travel, play board games and play pickleball.
This will be my fourth year doing a trip and I’m really pumped to travel with you all. This trip is unlike any experience I’ve had with students either inside or outside the classroom. You go through a lot of meaningful things together, process those things and support each other, and become a family in a short amount of time. The pictures you see of me here are actually from previous trips! It’s the highlight of my summer time and time again.
I will be reaching out shortly via email and phone/text to get to know you all a bit more and will give you a heads-up before I call. Only a few weeks away, YAY!
