Today the new leaders of the day, Maggie and Stafani woke up very early at 6:30 to be ready to wake the others up at 7:00! After everyone was done getting ready we had breakfast at 8 and today we had fried cheese, salami, and Mangu (mashed plantain), we also had the option to eat cereal. Don’t forget the fruit too! Once we finished our breakfast we led the mental warm-up of the day and talked about aid and development. We then went a little into depth about where and what our CAP day will consist of.
Transitioning into a program seminar, we brainstormed a few questions we could ask Don Roberto. To give a brief summary about who he is, he is the organization leader we will be working with during our CAP days! After an hour of brainstorming, we had a little bit of free time, then headed to lunch where we ate rice and beans with beef, plantains, salad, and always fruit. Finishing our lunch, we got right on the bus driving to Monte Coca, around a 45-minute drive, which is where we will be working for our CAP days! When we arrived we met Don Roberto, there, he gave us a presentation where we then asked the questions we previously came up with. We then took a little tour of the project we will be working on, after about two hours we got back on the bus and headed to the ice cream shop. 45 minutes later we got our ice cream and headed back to the accommodation where we had some more free time while we waited for our delicious dinner. For dinner, we had lentil soup, plantains, bread and salami, and more fruit! After dinner, we led our nightly meeting and passed on the torch to the new leaders of the day for tomorrow.
