DAY 9- CAP PART 1

Hey all I’m Arianna Coronel-Suazo. I was one of the leaders today. I go to Berkeley High and am also from Berkeley. I love to read and make things with yarn. I’m really excited to tell you how today was ?

Hey, y’all, my name is Jasmina Vahle and I was the other leader of the day today, along with Arianna. I go to Gateway High School in San Francisco, California. I am super excited to talk about our day today.

Today was a long-awaited day that marked the start of our CAP (Community Action Project). We had the opportunity to work with “Nutre Hogar” an organization that strives to provide better nourishment to young children from the ages of 0 to 5 years old. We had 3 groups working on weeding and planting trees, painting a mural in the nursery, and putting up netting around the semi-open playroom. These projects are improvements that the staff and our delegation agreed would allow the children who stay there to feel more at home. So far, we were able to finish the tree project that will eventually provide more shade to the location and we finished the netting around the playroom as well. Similarly, we were able to create a good base for the mural that we will continue tomorrow. After we finished our day at Nutre Hogar, we went to “La Paulina,” a local bakery that specializes in Panamanian delicacies, where we were all able to get pastries and ice cream.

We learned organizational strategies we can use as a group and personally to make the CAP project more effective, enjoyable, and meaningful. These organizational strategies include delegating tasks to make our time effective and well spent and by remembering to take care of the group and ourselves by taking frequent breaks.

To sum up our day we all worked really hard and were able to complete a lot of what we wanted to accomplish today! If you are still reading up to this point I hope you enjoyed the recap of our day and I hope you have a great rest of your night. The leaders for tomorrow are Julian Cudzinovic and Emilio.

P.S. miss you Mami and Papá <3 -Jasmina

P.P.S.I love you to the moon and back -Arianna

Peace, love, and blessings!

Great work glimpsers with ‘Nutre Hogar’ ! It looks like plenty of rain. Your definitely in the tropics. Alicia, we are having a little heat wave here, so we went swimming in grandma’s pool and Little Bear jumped in! Can’t wait to swim with you soon.
