Hello from Tristan and Abby!
Unfortunately, today was our second to last day here in Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic. We started off the day with a wake-up call at 7 AM. Breakfast at 8 AM consisted of eggs with peppers, onions, and tomatoes, pancakes (chocolate & regular), and fruit. Then, at 9:30 AM we left for the beach and arrived at 10 AM.
During the wa-wa ride, we sang our hearts out to Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, and Drake. At the beach, we enjoyed sitting in the water searching for the finest minerals in the sand, buying souvenirs from local vendors, skipping rocks, taking pictures, and tanning. At 12:00 we left back to El Rancho to complete our final reflection from 2 PM to 4 PM; which consisted of reflecting on what we have done as individuals as well as a group, giving Big Love to our peers GGLs and PCs. Our reflections consisted of what we were doing before and after this trip; continuing, stopping, and starting new things post-trip.
Afterward, we did a collective Big Love for each person where everyone wrote a note about everyone and their strengths. After a lengthy seminar, we all got ready for our fancy dinner. Many were nervous about not getting ready in time. Making sure they looked cute and stunning for our last big meal together, as a Global Glimpse family. There was even a moment when there were multiple persons working on Tristan’s hair, making sure he also looked majestic for dinner.
Finally, the wa-wa took us to the restaurant, and during the ride, we sang a lot of Drake, Katy Perry, and Nicki Minaj songs, all to bring us together, for one last night. As we proceeded into the restaurant, we waited for a few because we barged into the spot with no reservation beforehand, making the workers overwhelmed with the 25 people they had to cater to, including the presence of 23 Americans (our driver, Kelvin, and his wife ate with us). However, the appetizer, bread, was bomb.com. And the pizza was phenomenal with a soft chewy crust that melted in our mouths. A handful of people bought their own amenities, including Pina Coladas, desserts, and mozzarella sticks for Xoie.
Finally, we drove back home, surprisingly loudly, with the joy of finding out there was NO NIGHTLY MEETING. As soon as we walked into the Rancho, we were told our bedtime, which was at 11 PM btw, and that we should start getting ready to pack for tomorrow, as this is in fact, our last day. To conclude this message, we can’t wait to see you all tomorrow, as we’ve anticipated to seeing your faces since we left.
Love you all,
Tristan and Abby

Hello Glimpsers; thank you, Tristan and Abby, for a great final reflection post! It sounds like the group took great care to think about the trip and how it had impacted them. I just love that there is so much singing and merriment in general or when you’re prepping for an outing. ☺️ I’m not surprised that Xoie ordered models mozzarella sticks; she loves them!?
I hope that this experience leaves a lasting impression, filled with rich memories of your time together; Adiós!☺️

I’m truly impressed with all you’ve accomplished over your 3-day CAP project. Your shared group experience certainly highlights the saying, “there’s no ‘I’ in TEAM.”
Wow, what a rewarding experience for all involved!
I’ve enjoyed reading each day’s reflection over the 14-day adventure, and will miss this blog experience which was something new for me that makes me want to rediscover the joy of letter writing, so Gregory stay tuned for that…ha!
Gregory, while I’ll miss your blog updates, I miss you so much more, and can’t wait for your arrival home! Safe travels and I look forward to seeing you soon today!
P.S. Enjoy having your phone back, and I can only guess that this experience may give your phone an entirely new meaning – all good of course!
