Good Evening parents, The leaders of the day for Final Reflection were Amarilis Ceballos and Celise Dent.
We woke all of the kids up at 7am and then enjoyed breakfast at 8am. After breakfast, we moved to the mental warm-up where we played a game called Zip Zap. After a couple of games, we went to the Rancho and participated in a couple of Final Reflection activities. We shared things we would like to stop doing, start doing, and continue doing when we return home. After that, each table received a paper with someone’s name in the middle. As the papers were passed around, each person wrote one thing they loved about the person who was on the paper. For our closing activity, we played a game called shoulders. A group of people would sit in a circle with their eyes closed, and another group of people would stand around them. Program coordinator Mel read out a series of prompts and those who were standing around the group of people in the seats would tap the shoulders of the people who were sitting if the prompt applied to them. We then had some free time and ate lunch at 12pm. We had free time until 2pm and a group of us went to a local Maria’s house to make pastries and dinner for everyone. They made pasta and chicken, tres leches, and cake pops. Those who stayed at base had free time and we used it to socialize and talk with each other. When the group returned to the base house, they brought the food and pastries back with them to share with the rest of the group. At 6pm, we all ate the dinner that both the cooks and the group made.
We all made amazing memories over the past 2 weeks and are glad we spent it with one another. We want to say thank you to everyone who made our trip better and the parents who sent us love in all of the previous posts. Thank you Costa Rica for a great experience.
See you soon,
Amarilis and Celise
