Hey guys!!! Welcome back to our YouTube channel T2C starring Vivian and John!!!
Ya’ll already know what’s up, John and I woke up bright and early at 5 am just because we are different than the other leaders and because we are better duh (it was a super rainy morning:( ). Anywayssss, we started wake up call at 6 a.m. and breakfast started at 7 a.m. We were served a tasty meal which consisted of pinto (rice and beans) with eggs, hot dogs, aka salchicha con huevos, and it was served with toast with a bit of butter & mayo on the side!
Once breakfast was done, we took a little break before starting the mental warm up with a good few rounds of speed (the best game ever which me and John are goated at)!!! Once that was done, we began our mental warmup which was a game called ships and sailors. To briefly explain, it is basically like Simon says but with a bunch of different actions/commands. After that, we played Mafia once again and we were mentally warmed up and ready for our guest speaker.
For this guest speaker, we were introduced to the topic of exploring conservation. Through this topic, we learned more and more about Costa Rica and all the hidden gems and perks behind the country which aren’t really talked about. For example, our guest speaker told us that 99% of Costa Rica is run by renewable energy such as energy from windmills, volcanos, and water sources! To add to the info of water sources Señor Dennis had a very meaningful conversation with John where he let him know that we were within only a couple of miles of some of the biggest Water Dams in all of Latin America.
Once we were done having our guest speaker, we were greeted by a delicious lunch at 12 p.m. that consisted of a salad along with cheesy rice mixed with chicken. After that, we got ready to begin our fun day. Due to a majority vote, everyone decided to take a fun trip to the main town in Turrialba. We traveled to Turrialba using public transportation which was very packed and thankfully all 21 of us were able to make it work (it only costed 400 colones which was less than a US dollar!). Once we made it to town, we went to a little fair where a bunch of locals were selling fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, and even jewelry and handmade goods. After that, we stopped by a panaderia (a bakery) and enjoyed some freshly baked goods and even some of us tried their yummy milkshakes! While we were there, there was live music and this music group travels the world to do acoustic performances of Latin American songs.
After that, we took the bus back to the base house at around 4 where all of us were dying in the humid and packed bus. Once we got home, we were able to call our families (hi mom!!!!-vivi, hi erick :p-john). Once the clock struck 6, we were served dinner which consisted of white rice with chicken. After we all finished dinner, we held our nightly meeting where we went over our topic of the day of conservation and presented our super duper cool talents (I drew Hello Kitty and John moved his double-jointed finger).
We ended off this lovely night by listening to Frank Ocean and writing our hearts out to provide you all with this lovely blog post by yours truly, Vivian and John. See you guys next time, make sure you guys like and subscribe and hit that follow button. Peace out!!!!!!
