Aid & Development!

WHAT’S GOOD YALLL??!?!?!?!? ITS JUSTIIIIN and Kaylee! We had a very packed schedule today! After breakfast, we went to Nuestre Hogar; a center made to provide care for malnourished children from indigenous communities. After speaking with the administrator of this organization who informed us more about what exactly they do, how the program started, and the needs of the children, we went inside to the playroom to play and spend some time with the children. After some time, we reluctantly left the center and came back to the hotel to have lunch.

After we ate, we took the bus to where we had our first meeting about our upcoming Community Action Project with our partner organization, Proeco Azuero. Sandra, the president of this organization gave us an idea of what to expect for the three days of our project,  explaining the big issue of deforestation in Azuero and how it affects the biodiversity and the locals. Proecho Azuero tackles their plans to challenge deforestation by providing education in schools about Panamanian forests, taking volunteers, and local events.

Our last and most interesting destination of the day was the dance academy of Santa Liberada, where we learned a traditional Panamanian dance which was led by children who were laughing AT HOW BAD WE WERE! Although at first we were a little sloppy we eventually got the hang of it and ATE DOWN! After this super fun and super sweaty activity, we finallyyyy made our way back to the hotel for dinner and our nightly meeting where we passed the torch to our leaders of tomorrow: Rostyslav and Kimora.

WE OUTSKIIIII FOR NOW ?

Haha this sounds fun! And Panama is famous for their dancing. As they say in Macau, “The cure to any wound is a lively dance, with a lively partner”
