Today, we planned on finally getting started with the Community Action Project. However, the weather had other plans. It’s been raining non-stop for the past couple of days, leaving the community, including us, without running water. Fortunately, a truck stopped by to deliver an ample supply of water to our base house. Everyone is safe. This experience showed us how thankful we should be for the privileges we have in life and the basic necessities we take for granted. Luckily, we had a backup plan. Despite not being able to go out into the community, we made the most of the day indoors.

We wrote letters of appreciation to supporters of Global Glimpse. Later on, we worked in groups on our planned Cultural Exchange. In a couple of days, we will head to a local school where the different groups will work with students on separate projects. Some will learn about different languages, others will play games we love, while other students will do arts & crafts.

To keep the group engaged, we decided to create our own version of Jeopardy. We created topics about school, the GGLs, PCs, Costa Rica, and people we have met during our time in the community. Even though we were competitive with each other, we are all great friends and have compassion for one another.
Throughout this process, we have learned that communication and collaboration are important for building a strong foundation when working together through unexpected times.
