Hello Global Glimpsers and Families!

Hello Global Glimpsers and families, and happy summer! We are Lauren and Wade, coworkers at Burton High School in San Francisco. We are both super excited to be heading to Turrialba, Costa Rica this summer and want to share a little bit about ourselves.

From Lauren: What’s up y’all! This is my second trip with Global Glimpse, and my second time to beautiful Costa Rica. During the year I am an English teacher. I’m originally from Redding, CA, but have lived in San Francisco off and on for over a decade. In my free time, I like to read, cook, and exercise. Traveling is my biggest passion, which I have cultivated through teaching abroad in Guatemala and traveling to 60 countries. I believe travel is one of the most valuable things we can do to develop empathy and understanding in order to be responsible, thoughtful global citizens. I am so excited to be learning and growing alongside the Glimpsers on this trip.

From Wade: What’s up Global Glimpsers!! My name is Wade King-Gallman and I am one of your Global Glimpse Leaders. I am a San Francisco native, SFUSD graduate, and now a Wellness Coordinator at Phillip and Sala Burton HS. My hobbies are spending time with friends and family, traveling, working out and riding my bike. I have been to eleven countries so far and a bunch of different states. I would say my most memorable trip was to Thailand because of the beautiful beaches and culture. I love traveling most because of how it changes your perspective on all facets of life.  It causes you to embrace difference and appreciate cultures outside of your own. So, that is why I am so glad to be able to be a Global Glimpse Leader this year and share this awesome opportunity with you all. Looking forward to know you all more and getting to watch you grow as world travelers. Can’t wait to hit Costa Rica with y’all! Pura Vida! ?

Can’t wait to see you all on June 6th! BIG LOVE!
