Day 6: Cap Day 2

Hola! This is Samone, Kendall, and Nicholas, today’s leaders of the day.

Today was the second day dedicated to the Community Action Project. We painted medidores, which are the metal covers of a tool used to measure the water level each house uses. We came back for lunch, which was bone-in chicken, rice, squash, beans, and plantains. Unfortunately, we got stuck in a thunderstorm and could not go back out to continue our project, so we stayed at the cabins and had free time. We then began our draft letters of appreciation to the supporters of Global Glimpse. Next, we had dinner, which was chicken soup with white beans and rice on the side. We wrapped up the night with the nightly meeting and downtime.

Today we collectively felt like we made a change. When we walked back to the cabins past all the bright blue medidores, we really saw the impact it had and the help we gave. We were most proud of the dedication all the Glimpsers showed to complete the project today, shockingly completing it in under two hours. We would like to thank Esteban from ASADA de San Rafael for helping us navigate through the neighborhoods and find all the medidores. We all had fun being leaders of the day and would definitely do it again.

Hi, it’s Samone! I would like to shout out my moms (3) and Jake. I really miss you guys, but I’m grateful you pushed me to come to this. I am having a great time and learning a lot about myself. Today I learned how to share and split responsibilities amongst leaders. Anyway, I love you guys! Call you soon!

It’s Kendall! To my parents, grandparents, sister, and friends (if you’re reading), I’m thinking about you! I miss you all, but don’t worry about me. I’m having a great time here, and I’ll see you soon. I was proud of myself today for being able to step up to the challenge of Leader of the Day. Love you all! 🙂

Hey, it’s Nicholas. I want to first thank all the past leaders and the current leaders of the day for being amazing. Just watching them from the crowd on days prior, I was already impressed by the natural leadership that my peers effortlessly demonstrated. The people around me motivate me to seek more opportunities to expand my character, both in my interest in different hobbies and in leadership opportunities. Shout out to Mom, Dad, and Brother. I’ve always been in and out of the house, now in and out of the country. Thank you for allowing me this privilege.

P.S. Breakfast was French toast, and it was really good.
