Delivery cap 1

Today’s leaders were Natalie, Summer, and Hyomin! For breakfast we had a burrito with rice, beans, eggs, and cheese, along with a choice of tea or coffee. For our mental warm up today we went over the schedule and what we will be doing for CAP. For the CAP (Community Action Project), we helped the Turriabla community, along with ASADA, our partner, to help bring clean water to the area. The new addition of pipes that we added makes it easier for the water to flow. We spent two 3 hour shifts, digging deeper trenches, that the first delegation didn’t complete in order to put larger water pipes. During the CAP, we were split into 3 groups. We climbed a hill and worked in different areas in order to complete the work more efficienty. We listened to music and worked despite the rainy and hot weather. After our first shift, we ate beef and pork fajiatas along with fried plantain, pico de gallo, and with everyones favorite, strawberry mango juice. We returned from the second shift, returned our tools, and had downtime which most of us spent cleaning ourselves from our hardwork. Some people went to the pulperia (deli) to get snacks with one of our leaders, Jones! After our downtime, we got an opportunity to write a letter of apperication to our Global Glimpse supporters! It was a time to reflect on what we experienced throughout the 5 days we were in Costa Rica. After that, we had dinner which was squash soup along with platain, corn chips and pineapple juice. Finally, we had our nightly meeting to share our highlights and pass the torch to our new leaders, Treisy, Emily, and Saramia!

Please continue to support and check on us so we (Glimpsers) can read it the day we are leaders!

Hi mom I have no idea if you’re reading this but I am surviving and eating. I am very much homesick, I was infact not joking when I said I had attachment issues LOL. I’m even surprised you even wrote on the comments, keep commenting more please, I’ll be checking when I have my phone back, also reminder I can’t call everyday, next time we all call home is on saturday, don’t deny my call again LOL. Miss anton too, I miss him being annoying all of a sudden. Tell the cousins I love them and please have karens number at least prepared for me to call because I miss her. I was really in it with the digging. My shoes are done for! I hope my clothes will survive. Missing you everyday, I’m not lonely, stay healthy and feel better, love you.

Hi mom, dad, and brother I guess. I’m using google translate right now so it’s awkward. I’m doing really well, and I just really miss home. I miss the church people too, which is a little crazy. I’m gonna miss the friends I made here and the food. Thank you for the comments, I really wasn’t expecting to see so many. I love you guys so much and see you soon. – Hyomin

Summer , hope your doing well and full of energy for the great work you and the other brave teens working to bring clean water to that village . I’m so proud for the vital work your doing , remember even though the physical labor may be tough, what your building is far more – it’s hope, health and a brighter future for an entire community. You guys are learning discipline and sacrifice which will evolve to the future leaders of our world. I miss and love you Summer and are so proud to call you my daughter , get good sleep and I pray it stops raining , blessing to you and the group .

Love Dad

Wow!! Hyomin!!
Today I finally get to see you work as a leader!! So cool and so proud
We look forward to hearing from you every day.
Today I saw a picture of you working really nicely and your co-workers working brightly in tough situations.
It must have been hard because it’s all new to you…
You’ve been through so much and you’ve done so well!
I can’t believe you’ve been through this before!
I’m sure the locals appreciate you guys, too.
I’m looking forward to seeing some great leaders in the near future, huh?
Your family and your church are all waiting for you.
Your place is too big.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your time and make wonderful memories.
I can’t wait to meet you and give you a hug.
I love you!! My precious youngest daughter, Hyomin
