Pura Vida!!
Today we had a lovely day filled with lots of fun and exploring.
We began our morning with a smacking breakfast of banana pancakes, scrambled eggs, papaya, mango, and watermelon. Then Tyan led us in a stretch circle outside so we could prepare for the hike down to the waterfall! We rode on the bus for about 40 minutes to get to the trailhead and then descended down the green, shaded path. We all got to relax at the waterfall with lots of swimming, sunbathing, and frolicking around! (Don’t worry Mum no sunburn! -Nova)
At lunchtime we headed back up the trail where a restaurant was conveniently located. We got to try a new dish with rice, beans, and coconut milk, and it was very yummy, even to Amie who eats everything.
After lunch, we went on a lovely scenic ride to downtown Turrialba where we got ice cream, shopped at a thrift store, and visited a bakery. Most of the girls found lots of super cute items at the thrift store while the boys went to the store next door to buy mini fans. The bakery was filled with local treats like brownies, cinnamon rolls, and freshly baked bread. After exploring some more in the town center, we took a ride on the public bus and arrived back at base camp.
Overall, today was a super exciting day that we all used to relax and have fun after a long week. As leader of the day, something Amie initially struggled with was raising her voice to get the group’s attention. However, as the day went on, she became more comfortable speaking in front of everyone. Nova had trouble getting everyone to be on time for meetings and activities and setting regular reminders for people to arrive. But this improved as more activities were starting and both the group and Nova got better at showing up and giving reminders!
IMPORTANT: We will get the chance to call home tomorrow, so keep an eye out for a call throughout the day tomorrow!
See you all later!

So glad your day being leader went well Nova! I really loved the waterfall when I visited too, very relaxing and refreshingly cool. Visiting a local thrift store must’ve been so cool! Would’ve be so cool to come back home with a cool new Costa Rican outfit. Glad this fun day was successful, excited to hear the next adventures of this group. Miss you lots Novs ❤️.

Hai Beo Beo (Amie),
It’s been awfully quiet and calm without you. While you were away, many things happened. First, we started coaching basketball. The kids were so little that their shots couldn’t reach the basket, so Joe became the hoop. Secondly, Joe tried the lychee candy and his mind was blown. Don’t worry, we saved you some kitkats. Sophie also brought back a bunch of stuff for you from Cosmos. Also, we got locked in an elementary school parking lot but we’ll tell you more about it when you get back. We are glad that you got to do all your favorite things like thrifting and eating. Expecting a thrift haul when you get back.
Aight peace and bai,
Joe and Sophie ?
