DAY 2 WELCOME & ORIENTATION

Hello Glimpsers families,

We’re excited to share the wonderful experiences we had today! The students started their day bright and early at 6:00 a.m. with a traditional Panamanian breakfast, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

Our next stop was the iconic Panama Canal. There, the students watched a documentary about the canal’s history and significance. They had the incredible opportunity to witness a ship passing through the canal—an unforgettable and fascinating experience. The group engaged in a thoughtful discussion, asking insightful questions about the historical relationship between Panama and the United States, which deepened their understanding of this important landmark.

After our visit, we traveled to Chitré—a five-hour drive—where the students were introduced to their new home for the next ten days. Upon arrival, they participated in two engaging seminars, followed by a delicious traditional Panamanian dinner. This meal offered a perfect opportunity to connect with local culture through its unique flavors and culinary traditions.

After dinner, the students had the opportunity to experience a vibrant Panamanian cultural tradition by visiting an art festival, where some of them picked up unique and memorable souvenirs.

All of the students remained enthusiastic, curious, and fully engaged throughout the day’s activities. It was a truly memorable and enriching experience for everyone.

Thank you for trusting Global Glimpse to guide your children in becoming the future leaders and global citizens of tomorrow.

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s blog, which will be written by our first Leaders of the Day, Kimberly and Addison. Also, please make sure to download the WhatsApp application, as the Glimpsers will be making their next phone call home in just a few days.

Warm regards,
Zarai and Kenia

Wow! That looks so amazing! I can’t wait to see additional pictures of the canal! What a way to start your trip! The food sounds interesting too. I’m sure you will have so many stories to share. Is watching the boats go through the canal like what you had read about? We returned from Carbondale yesterday and I’m picking up the dog today and then we will get back to our daily schedule so I’m looking forward to hearing about what you get to do tomorrow. Have fun! Love you! Mom & Dad
