Day 12: Fun Day and Conservation

Good Evening Governa, (mm mmmm!)

Today was the group’s free day. Everyone had two options for today, going to markets in town or staying at the base house. Alissa, I (Julissa), and some others went to explore some markets, a cafe, a supermarket, and other local stores in Turrialba and purchased some jewelry, snacks, and other nick-nacks. We started off today by eating a delicious breakfast that consisted of eggs, toast, and a fruit cup then we went on to do the mental warmup where we played Mafia. After the mental warmup, we headed to the bus stop (waited almost an hour) and rode it to Turrialba. After shopping we headed back to the base house were we had a meeting about conservation with Karla (a local farmer) and ate lunch. Once the meeting was done, everyone munched on the snacks they had bought in town. Later, dinner time arrived and we ate burgers with a side of potato chips.
