slip and slide #2

Today our students woke up AGAIN bright and early to get ready for cap day 2. Given the challenges yesterday, the students were ready and able to accept the challenge of today. Of course we did catch up with our sleep on the bus, but once the bus stopped at our location, we all got up and made our way. The area of work was not as steep as yesterday, which made our job easier. The glimpsers split up in pairs of two and stuck by each other the whole time, but we still met along the way. Again, there were some slips and falls but they were covered with laughs. We planted four hundred trees! This was filled with fun, commitment, and companionship.

The view was dreamy. With the water and mountains, it was breath-taking. THANKFULLY it didn’t rain today and the humidity was low. After, we headed to our lunch spot. Located near a beautiful beach, the restaurant was a wonderful place to rest at. Many of the students spent some time at the beach, while a few glimpsers did a race. Our students Sean, Josyah, and Tyler won, while others spent some time at nearby shops. To wrap up our time at the beach, we had and amazing lunch near the shore.

It was an refreshing experience after all the hard work. We look forward to our last cap day as it is followed by FUN DAY. But before that, our students took the opportunity to drop off their clothes for laundry in preparation for the last few days. Afterwards, some took time to rest and others visited the nearby thrift and pastry shop. Our Global Glimpse Leader Ms. Cat had taken the day off, but very thoughtfully brought us a snack. Dinner was delicious! We ate the snacks, and ended our night with the nightly meeting. The torch was passed and our glimpsers spent some time together before lights out. We are grateful for the opportunity of being leaders today and look forward to next days!

Sincerely,

Ana, Asia, and Nisa 🙂
