Hi!

Our names are Charlee and Abi and we were Líders del Día today! Today we mostly stayed at camp and learned more about what were going to do for our community action project or CAP! We also prepared for this Friday, which is when we’ll have our Cultural Exchange Program at a local school here in Turrialba, “La Escuela San Rafael” We separated into groups to work on different types of activities, such as some with mobility, for language exchange, arts and crafts, and icebreakers/closings to bring us closer together.

In Charlee’s group they worked on making cards with English words or small sentences on them and , when the day comes, we are going to have them draw what they read from the cards onto pieces of paper, then heave other kids try and guess what they drew. This helps with the language exchange by having some words in english that they will hopefully understand later on, and for my group to learn more words in Spanish. In my (Abi’s) group, we worked on closing and decided to think of questions to ask, as well as doing show and tell of what they did in arts & crafts and also a unity clap which we do every night here at camp! The Arts & Crafts group had the idea to make animal faces on paper plates and also have a paper airplane decorating and racing contest! And the mobility group decided to do running tic-tac-toe! We spent today at camp learning more about our CAP, the Culture Exchange Program, and playing games with the people we met here! Tomorrow we’re starting our CAP project and we’re excited to begin working!
Big Love,
Abi & Charlee

Hi Guys,
the URL for CAP Day needs to be fixed. It points to student blogs but doesn’t open to read more.
Thanks,
