Bill Gertz brings 40+ years of experience in International Education. Bill served as CEO of AIFS from 2005 – 2018 when he became Chairman. AIFS programs under his guidance engage nearly 40,000 participants globally annually. Beyond AIFS, Bill serves as a Trustee for the AIFS Foundation, supporting underserved students. His roles include chairing the Alliance for International Exchange and serving as a Trustee for the National Society for the Gifted & Talented. Noteworthy initiatives include organizing the Diversity in International Education workshop, launching the Fearless Global Citizen campaign, and earning accolades like the IIE Centennial Medal in 2019 and being named one of the Top 50 Voices in North America by The PIE News in 2023. Residing in Fairfield, Connecticut, Bill shares his life with wife Evelyn, children, and grandchildren, balancing family with a passion for world travel, cultural writing, cooking, music, and modern art.
