Thea is a proud 6th generation Bay Area native who currently resides in Oakland, California with her partner and three fur-babies. Reigning from a working class family of educators and fierce advocates, Thea was exposed to the importance of social justice from a young age. As a former Glimpser and Alumni Ambassador, she understands how impactful leadership opportunities and service learning can be for students who are on the cusp of embarking upon life after high school. She is passionate about facilitating connections among people from diverse backgrounds and making travel accessible for students, regardless of socioeconomic status, believing it’s key to expanding perspectives and fostering personal growth. Throughout her career in nonprofit development, early childhood education, and as a doula, Thea has remained steadfast in her dedication to equity, accessibility, and community building. In her role as Bay Area Programs Coordinator, she nurtures relationships with partner schools and provides essential support to the educators, students, and ambassadors who make our mission a reality. When not at work, you can find Thea whipping up new vegan dishes, snapping 35mm film photos, teaching childbirth education classes, or hiking through the redwoods with her pup.
