Javier was born and raised in Matagalpa, a beautiful city in the central mountains of Nicaragua. He is passionate about working with people from different backgrounds and cultures, and he loves to contribute to creating transformative travel experiences for students and educators. Since joining Global Glimpse in 2013, Javier has led Global Glimpse programs in Nicaragua and Ecuador, and he has extensive experience in program management, partnership development, negotiations, and budgeting. As Panama Program Director, Javier oversees all aspects of our Panama summer programs, including curriculum , staffing, partnership development, and operational management. Javier is bilingual in Spanish and English, holds a BS in Industrial Engineering and Systems from the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua, and is pursuing postgraduate courses in financial management. When not at work, you can find Javier drinking coffee, playing music with friends – especially bass and electric guitar, spending time with family and friends, and watching movies.
