Carla Campos is the Principal of Tourism for Purpose, a consulting firm that provides commercially-minded strategy and sustainability services to clients in the travel and tourism sectors. In her role, Carla serves as a fractional CEO and Chief of Strategy for a wide range of stakeholders, including financial institutions, hospitality developers, corporations, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. With over 15 years of leadership experience in economic development and tourism, Carla recently served as the Head of Tourism for the Government of Puerto Rico. In this capacity, she played a pivotal role in transforming Puerto Rico into a cutting-edge tourism destination. Under her leadership, the island’s tourism sector not only recovered but thrived following a series of historic challenges, including the Zika virus outbreak, Hurricanes Irma and Maria, earthquakes, political unrest, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Carla’s strategic vision and resilience were instrumental in turning crises into catalysts for growth. She holds a Master’s Degree in Tourism Administration from George Washington University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Villanova University.
