Who We Serve

Who We Serve

In 2015, Global Glimpse will serve over 755 students and 78 educators from 55 public high schools across the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City!

We bring young leaders from diverse backgrounds together on an even playing field. Through the Global Glimpse program students learn how to collaborate to tackle challenges and build powerful relationships. Each Global Glimpse delegation is made up of 20-25 students who represent diverse high schools, neighborhoods, experiences, ethnicity, religious beliefs, socioeconomic backgrounds, and leadership styles.

How do they apply?

Students are nominated by educators or administrators at their school to participate in the Global Glimpse program. Nominations are based on demonstrated leadership, community involvement and potential for collegiate and career success. Once students are nominated, they apply and Global Glimpse staff and Board Members review and rank all applications. Global Glimpse accepts an average of 13 students per partner high school. Global Glimpse received close to 1000 applications in 2013!

Motivated, passionate students from non- partner high schools may also apply to join a Global Glimpse program as independent students.

Affordability

Global Glimpse believes that global and experiential education should be accessible to youth from all socioeconomic backgrounds. We provide scholarships on a sliding fee scale that makes the program accessible to low, middle, and upper income students and families. Depending on the scholarship level received, students will pay from $500 to $3500 and our fee includes airfare, accommodation, and all meals on their 2.5 week trip as well as access to our global education and leadership after-school program. There are no hidden fees whatsoever! We are a non-profit organization committed to access for ALL and diversity on all programs. 100% of accepted students receive a minimum scholarship of $1000 off of the $4500 industry average price and further scholarships are provided based on family income, dependents in the home, and the free and reduced lunch percentage at their school. Our mission is to make life-changing global education accessible and this year Global Glimpse provided close to $1 million in scholarships to our students.
