Our Story
The Global Glimpse program was born out of a need for comprehensive and accessible global education in the US. Today’s world is deeply and the future of our country is dependent on the perspectives and actions of tomorrow’s leaders. We believe that exposure to different countries, cultures, languages, and people has the power to change the lives of young people and truly enable them to be the change they want to see in the world.
In our first years we worked specifically with low income and minority student leaders including class presidents, Division I athletes, valedictorians, service club presidents, and talented artists. It is important to us to support the underserved, ‘diamond-in-the-rough’ students, who have limitless passion, but lack opportunity. Global Glimpse not only provided the opportunity for these extraordinary young people to travel abroad, but we gave them a new perspective as they moved on to higher education and personal achievement.
Based on this proven success we expanded the program to include caring and motivated students from top public and private high schools across the country. This took our program to a new level of impact delivering true socioeconomic, ethnic and experiential diversity. Global Glimpse unites the leaders of tomorrow for an amazing adventure. Our students not only learn about the developing world, but also gain deep insight into themselves and the diverse perspectives and experiences of their peers. With this knowledge our students are equipped and inspired to tackle the social, political, and economic challenges of the future.
The results are already showing as our alumni start service groups, initiate international projects, and attend renowned universities including Stanford, Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, and University of California, Berkeley.
